Back Pain

Approximately 60-70% of adults experience back pain at some stage in their lives, making it the second most prevalent reason for doctor visits, following colds. Both men and women are equally susceptible to this discomfort. Back pain varies from persistent, dull discomfort to sudden, intense pain, and stands as a significant health concern and the foremost cause of work-related disability

Lower Back Pain

Lower back pain is a discomfort most of us have encountered, stemming from various causes like strenuous workouts, lifting heavy objects, or even unknown triggers. It ranks among the most prevalent chronic conditions affecting individuals of all ages.

This pain can intensify due to factors such as muscular strain, degenerative conditions like spondylosis, sciatica, disc bulges, or repetitive stress injuries from poor posture.

  • Lumbar Spondylosis: Aging can lead to wear and tear in the lumbar spine joints, resulting in stiffness and lower back pain.
  • Sciatica: A variant of lower back pain radiating down one or both legs, often aggravated by specific movements.
  • Bulging Discs: Similar to ruptured discs, bulging discs can exert increased pressure on nerves.
  • Arthritis: Osteoarthritis affects various joints, including those in the hips and lower back, sometimes leading to spinal stenosis, the narrowing of the spinal cord’s space.
  • Abnormal Spinal Curvature: Irregular spinal curves, such as scoliosis, can lead to back pain.
  • Osteoporosis: Fragile, porous bones, including vertebrae, increase the risk of compression fractures

Knee Joint Pain

Knee pain is a prevalent concern that affects individuals of all age groups. Injuries to the knee, such as ligament tears or cartilage damage, can be a source of discomfort. Additionally, medical conditions including arthritis, gout, and infections may contribute to knee pain.

  • Osteoarthritis: A common knee joint ailment characterized by cartilage changes due to wear and tear, often age-related. Symptoms include knee pain, swelling, difficulty with activities like sitting or climbing stairs, and joint stiffness.

  • Rheumatoid Arthritis: An inflammatory condition that can affect multiple joints, including the knees. It’s particularly painful and tends to occur in younger individuals.

  • Gout: A form of arthritis in which uric acid crystals form in joints, leading to knee pain. While commonly associated with the big toe, it can also affect the knee.

  • Other conditions like Tendonitis, soft tissue injuries, Neuropathy, Neuritis, Myalgia, and Repetitive stress injuries can also contribute to knee discomfort

Cervical-spondylosis(Neck-pain)

Neck & Shoulder Pain

Neck pain or stiffness is a common occurrence, often stemming from factors like poor posture. Your neck’s intricate network of bones, ligaments, and muscles supports your head and enables its movement. Neck discomfort can arise from various causes, including abnormalities, inflammation, injuries, or degeneration.

  • Cervical Spondylosis: A progressive degenerative neck condition leading to stiffness, pain, and sometimes headaches, along with pain radiating to the hands.

  • Frozen Shoulder: This condition affects the connective tissues around the shoulder joint, causing inflammation, stiffness, limited mobility, and chronic pain. Even everyday tasks like raising an arm, dressing, or combing hair can become challenging

Panchakarma, a comprehensive Ayurvedic purification therapy, involves a series of treatments tailored to individual needs. For individuals with obesity-related arthritis and associated conditions, such as knee pain, the treatment plan typically includes Virechana followed by Basti therapies.

  1. Virechana: This purification therapy focuses on eliminating excess body heat and toxins through controlled purgation. It’s particularly beneficial for individuals with conditions related to obesity, as it helps balance digestive fire and improve metabolism.

  2. Basti: Following Virechana, Basti therapies are employed. Basti involves administering medicated enemas tailored to the patient’s specific needs. In cases of obesity-linked arthritis, Basti helps alleviate pain and inflammation by nourishing the affected joints and tissues. It also aids in reducing excessive body weight.

These Panchakarma therapies are complemented by other treatments as dictated by the individual’s overall condition and requirements. The goal is to provide a holistic approach to address obesity-related arthritis, targeting the root causes while promoting overall well-being
